This is America. It is 2026. We are all human. I see people driving cars and not hitting mine as a blessing. I see it as a sign to go along with my day.
I was yesterday years old when I realized not everyone sees it that way.
Some people see their flesh as an ear marker for their decisions.
I came in contact with that type of “some people” yesterday.
There I was, merging in traffic on the way back to the pharmacy after they shared they didnt fill my order when I showed up the first time.
I stood my ground and said, “Hey you guy’s keep mesing things up with delays and not doing accurate orders. I really need it to be right when I return”
To me, that was MAJOR.
Clearly communicating and not feeling guilty was never allowed in my home as the scapegoat.
I had to tread lightly around all the women because I was the smartest and prettiest aka THE PROBLEM.
SO as an adult I put this as a priority over all my needs.
Communicate. Regret. Minimize. Lash Out. Repeat.
Rather than dwelling in the regret, I decided to pray the bible verses I know by heart while driving back there.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
“Greater is HE that is in ME than HE that is in THE WORLD.”
“Forget the former things do not dwell on the pass for GOD is doing a new thing.”
I got going so good that I didn’t even notice a car charging forward into a turning right lane as I merge WITH MY SIGNAL ON.
Reflecting on this now. I was not in the wrong.
I just was faster.
That is the issue with flesh.
It does not know the difference between being right and being intimidated.
And they are very different.
You see planning to speed past someone who has their signal on, only to nearly fly off the road preventing a wreck because they jump into traffic anyway is not right.
But it is intimidating.
It takes away your “I won.” mindset and puts you in a “They won.” perspective.
To add insult to injury, I made them wait while turning because the other cars had a green light.
OUTRAGOUS.
Who am I to be a careful agile driver?
That went out the window whne I saw the woman behind me flinging her hands and beeping.
The woman must be described.
Indian. Mid height about 5″5. 100lbs or less. Yellow teeth. Anger. Bitterness.
That was her build yesterday.
Now how did I know her height and weight when she was in her car?
Well she gave me a full visual when following me to my destination.
I was praying bible verses and then I noticed this woman was following me.
I had two thoughts.
Wow this is super scary she is trying to prove a point and I don’t think she will like it that I am going to a miserable pharmacy long line.
Both were wrong.
She was in deed not scary and rather than prove a point she wanted to fight.
No literally. She got out of her car….in the pharmacy line…. and banged on my car door.
“Why are you such a bad driver?” I hear as I am sitting facing forward praying, God please protect me from this woman.
“Get out let’s fight.” she exclaims as I proceed to type in a gospel worship song on my phone.
It felt shaky, silly even to worship. But as I kept going…she left.
Epic.
Unreal.
I had no faith in her leaving and only expected either car damage or her to spit or remain there.
I got none of that.
She just returned to her vehicle and went away.
Odd smooth departure.
Amidst the joy I felt with her gone I see the bumper of the car in line ahead of me.
Sticker reads “Faith can move mountains.”
What. A. Perfect. Quote.
As I know it to be, faith is not delusion.
It is the willingness to prepare for what you prayed for even without belief.
It is the practice of the shaky silly worship that got her off my car.
It was the bible verse prayer that prevented me from hitting her too.
I am bigger. I am stronger. But I am not wrestling flesh and blood.
That would get me in jail. Imagine me jumping out and dominating a frail indian lady on the HEB Pharmacy drive through cameras?
- I’d be banned from my favorite pharmacy for cheap meds.
- I’d be in trouble with the law for assault because she would feel something serious and personal.
- I’d be giving satan a laundry list of accusations to use against me to God.
- I’d be operating against God and apart from God.
Instead of having an appetite for flesh driven revenge, my desire was certain. I wanted to change me.
God saw me eager to adjust my character and put me in the line of fire.
My biggest fear is physical confrontation and she wanted it so bad.
I wonder what it takes to get out of your car and run to someone in a pharmacy line that way?
It must be a strong demon to pull her authority that smoothly.
I got up to the pharmacy counter and did not feel guilty about complaining. Even made jokes with pharmacist.
I left jolted but confident that I was protected.
It broke away a fear in me of conflict. It taught me that conflict brings breakthrough.
Look at the seeds bursting through dirt to become trees.
I shared this to remind you all that the purpose of this experience is not to win any human interaction, it is to use your authority to guide you to heaven.
